Mikael Tariverdiev was working on the opera “The marriage of Figarenko” in 1989-1990, looking forward on staging in The Moscow State Academic Chamber Musical Theatre. The plot is the remake of the Mozart’s “Le nozze di Fiagro”. All nine characters (“migrated” from the Beaumarchais’s comedy), are figuring under the changed, but recognizable names. Figaro became Figarenko. He is also a barber, who wants to open the private barbershop. Susanna became Suzonova, she is Figarenko’s bride and helps him in bringing into action his ideas. Count Almaviva now is Evgraf Almavivov - the deputy of the chief of the Executive Committee of the City Soviet of People’s Deputies. Cherubino – Kerubinov (metropolitan journalist).
Swirling plot, secret dates, intrigues, dressing up - everything, as in the opera “Le nozze di Fiagro”, the plot of which was transferred to the Soviet era.
