"Helikon-Opera" tour in Cyprus
From the 1st till 6th of October "Helikon-Opera" was touring Cyprus. "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" opera by G. Rossini (Dmitry Bertman's production) was shown in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, in Strovolos municipal theatre and in Open theatre of Limassol.
Minister of Cyprus republic and cultural attache of Embassy of Russia visited the first performance. The theatre in Nicosia was remarkable for perfect acoustic, evening dresses of the ladies and aroma of perfumes. Hot Cyprus sun and closeness of the Mediterranean left a unique imprint on the course of the performance. Metropolitan public was charmed by Andrey Vilegzhanin (Figaro), Karina Grigoryan (Rosina), Nikolay Dorozhkin (Count Almaviva), Dmitry Ovchinnikov (Bartolo), Marina Karpechenko (Bertha), Alexey Tikhomirov (Basilio), Alexey Dedov (Fiorello), Ilia Ilin (Notary) and Mikhail Laverov (Ambrogio).

The atmosphere in Limassol was more democratic, Russian speech was heard in the hall. Our Bertha with samovar had even a greater success. Part of Rosina was performed by Maria Maksakova.
