"Tsarina" by D. Tukhmanov on stage of Rostov State Musical Theatre
The triumphal march of "Tsarina" continues in Russia. The performance has been already seen by more than 30 000 people across the country from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok.
On the 19th of September David Tukhmanov's opera was presented on stage of the Rostov State Musical Theatre (Rostov-on-Don). The tour happened under the personal patronage of the Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev and was timed to the 75th anniversary of the region. As always, this performance was organized by the "META" Charity and Education Fund with the support of "Uralsib" Financial Corporation. The cast included Ksenia Viaznikova (Catherine the Great), Vadim Zaplechny (Count Grigory Orlov), Elena Gushchina (Countess Bruce, The General's Wife Liven), soloists Maya Barkovskaya (Grand Duchess Catherine), Alexander Kiselev (Count Nikita Panin), Peter Morozov (Prince Potemkin-Tavrichesky), Dmitry Khromov (Platon Zubov), Irina Samoilova (Alexandrina), Julius Kotov (Gustav IV), Andrew Palamarchuk (1st Guard, 1st Ambassador), Alex Dedov (2nd Guard, 2nd Ambassador), Valery Kiryanov (Peter III). Conductor - Vladimir Ponkin.
Last season, Helikon's "Tsarina" performance by David Tukhmanov has been shown in Samara, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok. In Moscow, "Tsarina" was shown on Nov. 17 at the Moscow Operetta Theater, and on the 23rd of January 2012 in the Gostiny Dvor.
In 2013, on March 23, "Tsarina" will be performed on stage of Yekaterinburg Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The plans of the theater and "META" Charity and Education Fund include Baku and Novosibirsk.
