Now Moscow's Gostiny Dvor in in its company. It turned out that it is possible to show a big and complex performance on its temporary stage. Even the most scale effect, an appearance of the monument of Catherine II, a copy of the very same monument that is standing in the square before the Alexandrinsky theatre in Saint-Petersburg turned to be successful. The spectators could see the details of actor's play on the two big screens.
The many-sided image of Tsarina was embodied by soloists of "Helikon-opera" Maya Barkovskaya, Elena Mikhailenko and Larisa Kostiuk. Their partners were Dmitry Ponomarev (Grigory Orlov), Peter Morozov (Prince Potemkin) and Dmitry Khromov (Platon Zubov). Irina Samoilova performed a part of Alexandrina, Elena Guschina performed as Countess Brius, Mikhail Guzhov as Nikita Panin. Gustav IV, the Swedish King was as always performed by Oleg Ryabets. A couple of important roles was played by Andrey Palamarchuk and Alexander Miminoshwili. The chorus of the theatre many times turned from the court ladies and gentlemen into to the common people and back. The artists of the orchestra felt themselves comfortable in the improvised orchestra pit. As it is known, there is no real orchestra pit in the hall of New Arbat. The conductor of the performance was Konstantin Chudovsky.
