Estonian soloists sang in "The Love for Three Oranges"


On the 24th of February on Estonian Independence Day soloists of National opera of Estonia Heli Veskus and Urmas Poldmaa sang their parts of Fata Morgana and Truffaldino in "The Love for Three Oranges" performance in "Helikon-Opera".


Estonian singers perform these parts in the similar performance of Estonian National theatre of opera and ballet, staged by the Artistic director of "Helikon-Opera" Dmitry Bertman in January 2010. The two Moscow singers, Natalia Zagorinskaya and Vasily Efimov will sing in Estonian "The Love for Three Oranges" in order of creative exchange in April 2011.


Helikon theatre and its creative director Dmitry Bertman are tied with National Opera by creative relations. Besides Prokofiev's opera, one of the most significant performances, the premiere of 2007, an antifascist "Wallenberg" opera by Estonian composer Erkki Sven-Tuur in Dmitry Bertman's production, is shown in National Opera. For this production Dmitry Bertman was awarded with the Order of Santa Maria Land of the IVth grade in 2008. Dmitry Bertman is also a laureate of State Estonian prize and prize of Estonian theatrical union.


Soloists, artists of the choir and orchestra of "Helikon-Opera" have toured Tallin and Parnu several times. For the five times they took part in the International Birgitta festival, an artistic director of which, an Estonian conductor Eri Klaas. In May 2010 on stage of National opera Dmitry Bertman staged "A Duet of Tallinn and Moscow" with orchestra of "Estonia" theatre and soloists of "Helikon-Opera".


In March soloists of "Helikon-Opera" Larisa Kostiuk and Vadim Zaplechny together with Eri Klaas will take part in press-conference, devoted to the next Birgitta festival, which is going to take place in August 2011. Moscow theatre is going to present on this festival its versions of "Russalka" by A. Dvorak and "Carmen" by G. Bizet. The press-conference will taka place in Tallinn.
