Norma Fantini and “Helikon-Opera” theatre in joint project in the House of Music
On the 27th of May the concert version of "Norma" by V. Bellini will be presented on stage of Svetlanovsky Hall of Moscow International House of Music. Soloists, choir and orchestra of "Helikon-Opera" will take part in the perfomance. The title part will be sang by the world's famous Italian singer Norma Fantini under the baton of Vladimir Ponkin. This is the third and the last planned performance of the "Helikon-Opera invites" season-ticket, a joint project of "Helikon-Opera" and the House of Music.
“Norma” by V. Bellini is a special performance for “Helikon-Opera”. For the first time Artistic Director of Helikon-Opera Dmitry Bertman presented his version of this opera at Santander Festival in Spain. Maria Gulegina, Italians Luciano d’Intino and Giacomo Prestia, Canadian tenor Richard Margison, soloists, choir and orchestra of “Helikon-Opera” took part in that performance. The stage director and designers of the performance, permanent co-authors of D. Bertman in “Helikon” Igor Nezhny and Tatiana Tulubieva turned the love story of the Druids High-Priestess and Roman proconsul, full of dramatic collisions, into the epic picture of star wars of the future.
The famous Italian soprano Norma Fantini is going to perform the main part in a concert version that is going to be presented on stage of Svetlanovsky Hall of Moscow International House of Music on the 27th of May. Norma Fantini sings on the best stages of the world like Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, Wiener Staatsoper, Hamburg Opera, Zürich’s Opera House, Berlin’s Staatsoper, La Scala Theater, Bavarian Opera. Her repertoire includes parts of Aida, Tosca, Manon Lescaut, Desdemona in “Othello”, Elisabetta di Valois in “Don Carlo”, Donna Anna in “Don Juan”.
The next season she is going to perform Norma at Teatro Regio (Torino). Norma Fantini performs with such conductors as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano, Fabio Luisi, Nello Santi, Stéphane Denève, she also participates in performances by Luca Ronconi, Bob Wilson, Franco Zeffirelli and other famous stage directors. Russian music lovers know Italian diva by her performance with Big Symphonic Orchestra named after P. I. Tchaikovsky under the baton of maestro Vladimir Fedoseyev in autumn 2009, where she sang Desdemona in “Otello” composition upon the motives of works by W. Shakespeare and G. Verdi.
Ksenia Viaznikova (Adalgisa), Nikolai Dorozhkin (Oroveso), Alexandra Kovalevich (Clotilde), Dmitry Khromov (Flavio) are taking part in concert version of “Norma” in the House of Music on the 27th of May.
The next season of 2010-2011 the collaboration of “Helikon-Opera” and Moscow International House of Music will continue. In the context of “Fashionable Opera” season ticket “Helikon-Opera” will perform the concert versions of “Eugene Onegin” by P. I. Tchaikovsky and “Prince Igor” by A. Borodin.
