"Nabucco" in Moscow International House of Music
House of Music hospitably presented its best halls to artists of "Helikon-Opera" artists, who during the reconstruction of their main building, are temporarily taking shelter in the ex-minister conference hall in New Arbat.
This season “Gershwin-Gala” performance was already played on stage of Svetlanovsky Hall. Vocal evenings of soloists of the theatre in the context of Mikhail Egizaryan’s project “The Gif of Singing Soul” regularly take place in the Chamber Hall.
On the 1st of March on stage of Svetlanovsky Hall of Moscow International House of Music the concert version of Verdi’s “Nabucco” was presented. The roles were performed by The Honoured Artist of Russia Sergey Toptygin (Nabucco), Svetlana Sozdateleva (Abigaille), Dmitry Ponomarev (Ismaele), Stanislav Shvets (Zaccaria), The Honoured Artists of Russia Larisa Kostiuk (Fenena) and Marina Karpechenko (Anna), Dmitry Skorikov (High Priest) and Mikhail Seryshev (Abdallo). Conductor People’s Artist of Russia Eugene Brazhnik.
“Nabucco” appeared in Helikon’s repertoire in 2004, the premiere performances were shown in Dijon and Paris. Since 2005 “Nabucco” staged by Dmitry Bertman, Igor Nezhny and Tatiana Tulubieva is performed in Mariinsky theatre. Unfortunately, Moscow doesn’t have a hall, where the huge decorations of this performance could fit, that is why Helikon presents Nabucco’s concert version.
