Concert in the memory of Kirill Tikhonov
On December 4, 2007 a concert in the memory of the first principal conductor of Helikon-Opera People's Artist of Russia Kirill Tikhonov was held in Helikon-Opera. Artists of the theatre performed Requiem by W. A. Mozart. The program was prepared by Honoured Artist of Russia Denis Kirpanev.
The following artists participated in the concert: People's Artis of Russia Natalia Zagorinskaya (soprano), Oxana Kornievskaya (mezzo-soprano, The Centre of Opera Singing of Galina Vishnevskaya), Vasily Efimov (tenor), Mikhail Nikanorov (bass), the chorus and orchestra of Helikon-Opera.
Before the beginnig of the concert artists and spectators remembered Kirill Tikhonov - one of the founders of Helikon. With the sound of Divertisment № 3 F-dur the videofilm about this outstanding person and talented conductor was shown. Then Requiem was performed. Spectators and artists enjoyed the music of the great composer. After the concert the loud ovation was heard.
The next performance of Requiem will be held in the context of Vladimir Ponkin's subscription in Tchaikovsky Concert Hall on January 24, 2008.
