Honoured Artist of Russia Vadim Zaplechny is touring a lot this season


Honoured Artist of Russia Vadim Zaplechny is touring a lot this season. On the 22nd and 25th of March he sang Herman in "The Queen of Spades" by P. I. Tchaikovsky in Rostov-on-Don (production of K. Balakin). Since December 2006 till February 2007 with invitation of Canadian Opera Company Zaplechny has been participating in production of "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk" by D. D. Shostakovich, where he performed as Zinoviy Borisovich. The performance was conducted by Richard Bradshaw, general director and principal conductor of Canadian Opera Company.


In the end of 2006 the famous Andrey Tarkovsky's production of "Boris Godunov" by M. P. Moussorgsky, made for Covent-Garden theatre 24 years ago and recently reconstructed by Irina Brown, was transferred to Monaco. Vadim Zaplechny was invited to perform Shujsky's part. The same part he performed in Bruxelles Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie (Belgium).


The soloist is also invited to participate in "The Queen of Spades" in Bremen (Germany) in June 2007.
