CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PREMIERE OF MADAMA BUTTERFLY BY G. PUCCINI!
Opera by G. Puccini's Madama Butterfly triumphantly entered into the repertoire of the Helikon on June 28! It was a special event – for the first time since the premiere of Madama Butterfly at La Scala in 1904, the first edition of Puccini's opera was presented on the stage of the theater!
Even though this particular edition is the longest one, time flew by and the action on stage captivated everyone who came to the premiere at the Helikon! This is a great merit of stage-director Dmitry Bertman, conductor Marco Boemi and those who created the performance with them: desiners Rostislav Protasov and Alla Shumeiko, lighting designer Damir Ismagilov, video projection desiner Alexander Andronov, choreographer Edvald Smirnov, choirmaster Evgeny Ilyin.
In the first premiere block different casts of singers delighted audiences and they were all great!
We thank our wonderful soloists: Lidia Svetozarova, Valentina Pravdina and Galina Barosh (Butterfly), Sergey Ababkin, Ivan Gyngazov and Shota Chibirov (Pinkerton), Alexey Dedov, Konstantin Brzhinsky and Maxim Perebeynos (Sharpless), Ksenia Viaznikova, Larisa Kostiuk and Valentina Gofer (Suzuki), Vitaly Fomin and David Posulikhin (Goro), Vadim Zaplechny and Dmitry Ponomarev (Yamadori), Dmitry Skorikov and Grigory Soloviov (Yakusidé), Stanislav Shvets and Alexander Kiselev (The Bonze), Inna Zvenyatskaya, Marina Karpechenko and Anna Pegova (Kate Pinkerton), Alexey Egorov (The Commissioner), Nikolai Patsyuk (The Commissioner and the Official Registrar), Andrey Orekhov (The Official Registrar), Daria Guseinova and Diana Schnurr (Cio-Cio-san's mother), Olga Davydova and Anna Medkova (The aunt), Kristina Muntianu and Alina Smolik (The cousin). Special bravo to our young artists, Savva Semagin and Yakov Novoselov, who performed the role of Dolore and Yuri Egorov – the Boy! On June 28 and 29, the performances were conducted by Maestro Marco Boemi, and on June 30, Maestro Valery Kiryanov was conducting.
We thank for the fantastic work all the soloists, choir artists, orchestra musicians and the entire production team of the performance! We wish Madame Butterfly a long, successful stage life and the love of the audience!
Our premiere became possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, and it turned into a celebration thanks to the partners of the theater –Russian Post and the company “Zolotaya Balka”.
Congratulations with the premiere!
