Artists of "Helikon-opera" will perform in Demyanovo estate
On July, 12 the musical and poetical essay "A sacrifice to a genius", performed by artists of Moscow musical theatre Helikon-opera and the Honoured Artist of Russia Anatoly Belyi, will be shown in Klin, Moscow region.
The program will begin at 22:00. On an improvised stage, set on the foundations of the historic building, a concert of the leading soloists of the Moscow musical theater "Helikon-Opera" under Dmitry Bertman will be held.
Romances by Tchaikovsky will be performed by People's Artist of Russia Natalia Zagorinskaya, Honoured Artist of Russia Sergei Toptygin, laureates of international competitions Olga Shcheglova, Irina Reynard and Andrey Palamarchuk (concertmaster Sergey Chechetko).
The Honoured Artist of Russia Anatoly Bely will read the letter by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, in which the composer shares his impressions of travel, meetings, and how the inspiration comes to him here, on the ground outside Moscow.
Demyanovo Manor is a unique monument of Russian architecture of the XVII - XIX centuries, its first mention refers to the 1624. Its owners in different years were Rimsky-Korsakov and Taneyev families. In 1785 Empress Catherine II with the future emperor Alexander I visited the estate. In summer of 1811 in Demyanovo, on his way to St. Petersburg, Vasily Pushkin, who drove his nephew Alexander Pushkin for admission to the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, took a stop in the manor. Composer Sergei Taneyev, a disciple of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the brother of the last owner of the estate, lived in the homestead. Andrew Bely, Maria Yermolova, Saltykov-Shchedrin, and other prominent figures of science and culture often visited Demyanovo in summer.
Since 1991 Demyanovo Manor is a branch of Tchaikovsky State House-Museum.
