"Opera for Cello and Orchestra"
On September 3, 2014 a concert "Opera for Cello and Orchestra" in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Honored Artist of Russia Victor Kozodov will be held in Moscow musical theater "Helikon-opera" under Dmitry Bertman.
The Honoured Artists of Russia Marina Andreeva, Anna Grechishkina, Sergey Toptygin, Michael Guzhov, winners of international competitions Alexander Kovalevich, Elena Mikhaylenko, Maya Barkovskaya, Ilya Govzich, Alexei Isaev, Andrey Palamarchuk and orchestra "Helikon-opera" will take part in the concert.
The first part will feature
Tell’s overture and aria for the opera "William Tell" by Gioacchino Rossini, Rodisette’s aria, duet of Edronika and Antippo from the opera " Der Geduldige Sócrates" by Georg Philipp Telemann , Morgana’s aria from "Alcina" opera by George Frideric Handel, Konstanze’s aria from the opera " Die Entführung aus dem Serail" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Viola’s aria from "Johannes-Passion" by Johann Sebastian Bach, quartet from the opera “L’lsola disabitata" by Franz Josef Haydn.
The second part:
Prelude to the opera " I Masnadieri", Philip and Rigoletto aria from the "Don Carlos", Zachariah’s Prayer from "Nabucco" and Amelia's aria from the opera " Un Ballo in Maschera" by Giuseppe Verdi, aria of Cavaradossi from the opera " Tosca " by Giacomo Puccini, a piece from Bachianas Brasileiras number 5 by Villa-Lobos, overture to " Le roi d'Ys" by Edouard Lalo.
From 1961 to 1972 Victor Kozodov studied at the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory.
From 1972 to 1977 - The Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor Stepan Kalyanov).
In 1985 he finished post-graduate studies in Piano Trio in the class of Professor Gennady Cherkasov.
From 1977 up to now he is an artist of "Concertino" ensemble of soloists.
From 1999 up to now he is a cellist of orchestra of the Moscow musical theater "Helikon- Opera" under Dmitry Bertman.
Victor Kozodov produced about 20 CD with "Concertino" ensemble and a string quartet.
Government awards:
Medal of "Honorary Citizen of the city of Ho Chi Minh" (Honored Artist of the Republic of Vietnam), 1987;
Honored Artist of Russia, 2002.
