Exit to The Theater
On April 11, 2014 the opening of the exhibition "Exit to the Theater" in the context of the anniversary program of the XXth "The Golden Mask" festival and "The Cherry Orchard" XIV Festival of Open Arts took place in Moscow.
“The Golden Mask in the city”, the joint project of the “The Cherry Orchard" Open Arts Festival and Bakhrushin State Theatre Museum, is dedicated to the anniversary of “The Golden Mask” International Theatre Festival. According to the idea of authors of the project, a theater artist Alexander Borovsky and a theater photographer Alexander Ivanishin the photo shooting of figures of contemporary Russian theater had been happening for several months.
The photo session of the Artistic Director of “Helikon-opera” Dmitry Bertman, who is a winner of 11 “The Golden Masks”, took place in his theatre in February 2014. “The Cherry Orchard” fest chose a gallery of historical building of the State Department Store (GUM), as an exposition venue. The podium, framed with large coloured photos of famous Russian theatres, had been built on the 1st line of the store. The bilateral black and white photos of theatre masters in their original height are randomly placed in between.
The exhibition will be opened in GUM, Red Square, 3 until May 31, 2014.
