On the 23rd of February “Devichnik” performance was held in Helikon-opera
On the 23rd of February “Devichnik” performance was held in Helikon-opera. Every year a traditional skit, where only female soloists take part, is held in Helikon-opera. This time Helikon’s skit was performed in decorations of “Tsarina” opera. The concert opened with overture from “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”.
The spectators saw scenes from “The Queen of Spades” by P. Tchaikovsky, heard Niklaus song from “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” by J. Offenbach, performed by the Honoured Artists of Russia Ksenia Viaznikova, Larisa Kostiuk and artists of the choir. Then followed Norina’s aria from “Don Pasquale” by G. Donizetti performed by Marina Andreyeva, duet of Lisa and Polina from “The Queen of Spades” by P. Tchaikovsky (laureates of international contests Alexandra Kovalevich and Ekaterina Trebeleva), scene from “Aida” by G. Verdi (Honoured Artists of Russia Ksenia Viaznikova, Larisa Kostiuk), Cerubino’s aria from “Le Nozze di Figaro” by W. A. Mozart, performed by Inna Zvenyatskaya.
The fragments from “Un Ballo en Maschera” by G. Verdi (Lydia Svetozarova), “Eugene Onegin” by P. Tchaikovsky (artists of the choir), “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Rossini (the Honoured Artists of Russia Marina Kalinina), “Il Trovatore” by G. Verdi (the Honoured Artist of Russia Larisa Kostiuk), “Duetto buffo di due gatti” by G. Rossini (Alexandra Kovalevich, Maya Barkovskaya) and many other fragments, which audience loves, were performed.
The spectators heard Silva’s aria “Heya” by I. Kalman, performed by all participants of the concert.
