Dmitry Bertman will take part in "Cultural Revolution" program

On the 27th of February 2014 the Artistic Director of "Helikon-opera" Dmitry Bertman took part in "Cultural Revolution" program.

They taught us that art without truth is nothing, and has no right to exist. However, some competent people had different opinions. Isaak Babel contended there is no sense for a well fabricated history to imitate real life, because life is trying to pretend to be fabricated history. Lion Feuchtwanger believed that the reality is a raw material, inaccessible to human perception. Somerset Maugham reckoned that the impression is more important than a truth in a dramaturgy. So for what extent the art requires truth?

Dmutry Bertman, the People’s Artist of Russia, the artistic director of Helikon-opera theatre; Mark Rozovsky, the People’s Artist of Russia, the Artistic Director of “At Nikitskiye vorota” theatre; Andrey Malukov, the People’s Artist of Russia, Stage Director, script writer, producer; Alexey Varlamov, professor of philological faculty of Moscow State University, writer; Galina Mazheykina, art critic, culturologist, Artem Varghaftik, musical critic, Valentin Postnikov, children’s writer, took part in the program.
