Russian stage director produced "Eugene Onegin" in cultural capital of Europe-2014

On February 8, 2014 the premiere of "Eugene Onegin" by P. Tchaikovsky in production of Artistic Director of "Helikon-opera" professor Dmitry Bertman will take place in Norrlandsoperan in the city of Umea, Sweden. Umea is announced to be the cultural capital of Europe in 2014.

Russian opera will open all the celebrations of this event on theatrical scene. The cast of the performers is international, all singers are famous. Dmitry Bertman is quite satisfied with his team.

The famous baritone Peter Mattei (Sweden) will perform as Onegin and Maria Fontosh as Tatiana. Maria has already worked with Dmitry Bertman, it is her third Tatiana. There were productions in Swedish Royal Opera in Stockholm and in Vanemuine theatre in Tartu. Conductor Okko Kamu.

The performance is the 8th “Eugen Onegin”, staged by Dmitry Bertman and his second production of this performance in Sweden.
