Valery Kipelov: “I saw an outstanding performance”

On February 2nd the famous Russian rock star, singer and composer Valery Kipelov saw “Mozart and Salieri. Requiem” performance in “Helikon-opera” under Dmitry Bertman.

“I am very glad that I came here, - said Valery Kipelov after the performance, - I have been dreaming to listen this Helikon-opera’s production in such a chamber performance. I got impressed. It is a remarkable production with the modest resources. Real. We have just recorded our sinlgle, which is called “Reflection” after Pushkin’s poems, after “Little tragedies” film and “Amadeus” film by Milos Forman. This is why the performance is consonant with our creative work.

I am really grateful to all musicians and singers. I especially liked Salieri. It was perfectly made. I am glad being here with my friends, musicians. Greatest thanks!”
“Mozart and Salieri. Requiem” performance by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov and W. A. Mozart appeared in Helikon-opera’s playbill after Hungarian festival Bartok+ in Miskolc, where “Mozart and Salieri” production by Dmitry Bertman created a furore among public with the delicate staging and wonderful dramatic work.

The Artistic Director of Helikon-opera Dmitry Bertman was an author of idea of creating the similar project for Russian public and entrusted this task to his deputy Ilya Ilin.
“Dmitry Bertman’s directon impressed everyone in Hungary with its delicacy”, says Ilya Ilin, the stage director of “Mozart and Salieri. Requiem” in Helikon-opera, “I am grateful to Dmitry that he entrusted me to work upon this project in “Helikon-opera” on the basis of the festival performance. He is an Artistic Director of the project”. Music Director – Konstantin Tchudovsky. Spectators saw Dmitry Yankovsky and Dmitry Skorikov as Salieri, Dmitry Khromov and Andrey Palamarchuk as Mozart. The Honoured Artist of Russia Larisa Kostiuk and laureate of international contests Ekaterina Trebeleva performed solo in “Requiem”.
