WAGNER/VERDI festival has been finished
On October 27 Wagner/Verdi festival ended with a gala-concert at Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow International House of Music Festival. Soloists, chorus and orchestra of the theater presented the program, which included the most striking pieces from the vast artistic heritage of both composers.
The first part of the show included music of Richard Wagner. The conductor was People's Artist of Russia Vladimir PONKIN. The second part was dedicated to the music of Giuseppe Verdi, conducted by People's Artist of Russia Yevgeny Brazhnik.
The huge Svetlanov Hall of the House of Music was filled to a full capacity. At the entrance of the House of Music the audience asked extra tickets in vain. The voices of Helikon’s singers sounded perfectly in the updated acoustics of the hall. The theatre outgrown its hall in Novy Arbat, which in this situation was felt especially keenly.
