A soloist of "Estonia" National Opera Mart Madiste will take part in Helikon's performance of "Les Contes d'Hoffman"
On the 31st of January and the 2nd of February a soloist of "Estonia: National Opera Mart Madiste will perform a part of Hoffman in "Les Contes d'Hoffman" in "Helikon-opera" in Arbat
On the 31rd of January and the 2nd of February the golden voice of "Estonia", a leading tenor of "Estonia" National Opera Mart Madiste will perform a part of Hoffman in "Les Contes d'Hoffman" performance.
Mart Madiste has studied singing at the Estonian Academy of Music with Professor Matti Pelo and Helin Kapten. He has furthered his training with Professor Virgilijus Noreika. Mart Madiste is the soloist of the Estonian National Opera since 1999. His repertoire includes Verdi’s Alfredo (La traviata), Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera), Duke (Rigoletto), Puccini’s Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Cavaradossi (Tosca) and Rodolfo (La bohѐme), as well as Don José (Bizet’s Carmen), Hermann (The Queen of Spades by Tchaikovsky), Hoffmann (Les contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach), Prince (Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges), Turiddu (Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana), Beppe and Arlecchino (Leoncavallo’s I pagliacci), First Guest and Jacob Wallenberg (Tüür’s Wallenberg), Melot (Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde), Reinhold (Tubin’s Barbara von Tisenhusen), etc. He has also performed at Vanemuine Theatre and sung the soloist parts at large-scale works. In 2009 Mart Madiste was awarded with the Georg Ots Prize.
Estonian soloists regularly take part in Helikon-opera's performances. Moscow theatre and its Artistic Director Dmitry Bertman collaborate closely with Estonian National Opera. Dmitry Bertman staged 4 performances on the main Estonian stage. In 2008 The President of Republic of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves awarded Dmitry Bertman with Order of Santa Maria Land and with the State Prize of Estonia for Bertman's production of antifascist "Wallenberg" opera by Erkki Sven-Tüür in Estonian National Opera. Helikon-opera made several tours to Estonia and took part in International Birgitta festival for six times. In summer 2012 the theatre was the main guest of International music festival "Days of opera in Saaremaa".
On the 31rd of January, 1, 2, 3 of February "Les Contes d'Hoffman" in Dmitry Bertman production are performed on stage of "Helikon-opera". Conductor - Eugene Brazhnik. On the 31rd of January and the 2nd of February a part of Hoffman is performed by Mart Madiste, on the 1st and the 3rd of February a soloist of "Helikon-opera" Dmitry Ponomarev will perform the same part.
