The premiere of "KALMANIA" in "Helikon-Opera"
On the 28th of November the premiere of KALMANIA performance, devoted to the 130th anniversary since imre Kalman's birth, was held in Moscow music theatre under Dmitry Bertman. Imre Kalman is one of the operetta geniuses, whose works have been permanently included in the theatres playbills for more than a century.
"Helikon-Opera" performance includes hits from "Silva", "Die Bajadere", "Maritza", "Der Zigeunerprimas", "The Circus Princess", "The Violet of Montmartre" operettas.
"KALMANIA" is a real parade of baritones. But not only. Edvald Smirnov, the stage director of the performance, also brought sopranos, tenors, basses and choir on stage.
As a choreographer Edvald Smirnov produced 8 performances in "Helikon-Opera". This is his ninth work in the theatre in a new role of stage director. In "KALMANIA" Smirnov forced everybody to dance, as there is no operetta without dancing!
Musical director and conductor of the production is Konstantin Chudovsky. Set and costume designers are Igor Nezhny and Tatiana Tulubieva.
The cast includes soloists Marina Andreeva, Anna Grechishkina, Marina Karpechenko, Maya Barkovskaya, Inna Zvenyatskaya, Karina A. Flores, Lydia Svetozarova, Ekaterina Trebeleva, Maria Maskhulia, Alexandra Kovalevich, Irene Reynard, Marina Kalinina, Elizaveta Chudovskaya, Irina Samoilova, Vadim Zaplechny, Anatoly Ponomarev, Andrey Vylegzhanin, Alexey Dedov, Alexander Miminoshvili, Dmitry Ponomarev, Dmitry Ovchinnikov, Peter Morozov, Maxim Perebeinos, Vadim Letunov, Ali Magomedov, Andrey Palamarchuk, Alexey Isaev, Mikhail Nikanorov, Vladimir Bolotin, Eugene Ksionda. Performer of the "Gypsy Dance" - Xenia Lisanskaya.
The premiere series of performances will run until the 9th of December.
