"Mozart and Salieri. Requiem" in "Eldar" CT centre

On October 2, 2012 in "Eldar" cinema and theatral center "Mozart and Salieri. Requiem" performance by Rimsky-Korsakov and Mozart was held.

"Mozart and Salieri"... Since Pushkin's "little tragedy" about these composers appeared, nobody would believe Salieri's innocence. Seems, Pushkin dotted all the i's... But what if everything was completely different? Or quite different?

Working on an opera upon Pushkin’s text, Rimsky-Korsakov tried to avoid opera tradition of the XIXth century and gave with a fresh start. He started the experiment looking for his new style and didn’t need the experienced librettist, who always knew that innocently killed tenor is always right, the bass is a villain and it is supposed to weep at the end.

Moscow Musical Theatre "Helikon-Opera" presented an opera version of the story. Soloists Ksenia Viaznikova (mezzo-soprano), Ekaterina Trebeleva (soprano), Vasily Efimov (Mozart), Dmitry Jankowski (Salieri), Dmitry Makeev (Blind violinist) artists of the choir and orchestra took part in the performance. Conductor Valery Kiryanov.

"Mozart and Salieri. Requiem "attracted a full house of spectators, among them was the master of Russian cinema, Eldar Ryazanov with his wife. The performance was well received by the public.
