"The duet of two capitals" concert
From the 12th to 15th of September the capital of Ukraine will host Days of Moscow in Kiev. The cultural program includes exhibition "The best theater posters in Moscow over the past five years," a gala-concert of creative collectives of Moscow "The duet of two capitals" and the play by A. Legchakov and Y. Kwiatkowski "Cops in the fire".
Bilateral forum will open on September 12 with a gala concert on the stage of the Kiev National Operetta Theatre with the participation of the best creative teams of the Russian capital. For Kiev, it will be an opportunity to see in one night everything that contemporary cultural Moscow lives with, an unprecedented range of genres, styles, artistic trends. One concert will feature "Gnessins Virtuosos" and The Pipe Band of Moscow, opera soloists and jazz musicians, children's choir and gymnasts of the Circus on Tsvetnoy, "Gzhel" dance theatre and others. Soloists of the Moscow Musical Theatre "Helikon-Opera" under Dmitry Bertman, winners of international competitions Karina A. Flores and Maxim Perebeinos will perform Lauretta's aria from the opera "Gianni Schicchi" and Cavatina di Figaro from the opera "The Barber of Seville" by G. Rossini. Director of the evening is the Honored Worker of Culture of Russia Ilya Ilyin, who is Helikon’s artist.
On September 13 on stage of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine leading soloists of Moscow "Helikon-Opera" and the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko will perform in the concert program "The duet of two capitals". The conductors, in turn, one after another, will be the music director and principal conductor of "Helikon-opera" The People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Ponkin and his Ukrainian counterpart. The program includes the most famous duos of the world repertoire by Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni, Bizet, Johann Strauss. "Helikon-Opera" will be represented by The Honoured Artist of Russia Vadim Zaplechny, winners of international and Russian competitions Alexandra Kovalevich, Karina A. Flores, Michael Guzhov and Maxim Perebeinos.
With this performance "Helikon-Opera" is going to consolidate the tradition, which originated in 2010 in Estonia with a concert "A duet of Tallinn and Moscow." On the 12th and 13th of September "Helikon-Opera" again will be a messenger of Russian culture.
