"Helikon-Opera" opened a season with performances at City Day
It has become a tradition that "Helikon" opens its Moscow season with performances at City Day.
On September, 1st, soloists of "Helikon-Opera" took part in a grand concert of classical and jazz music in the context of the Program of the 8th "Worship" Moscow Festival at the Poklonnaya Hill. The smash hits of the world opera repertoire were performed by students and masters of RATA (Russian Academy of Theatrical Arts) soloists of "Helikon-Opera": Maria Maskhulia, Elena Semenova, Konstantin Brzhinsky, Vadim Zaplechny and Alexander Miminoshvili. On the same day the young soloists Lydia Svetozarova and Vadim Letunov participated in a music marathon, organized by the Museum of Musical Culture named after Glinka in Sokolniki.
On September, 2, at 18 pm "Helikon-Revue" with soloists, chorus and orchestra of the theater was presented in the context of "Moscow Broadway" program on Pushkin Square. Despite difficult weather conditions - the theatre had to move the band to the stage because of driving rain - the concert was on the rise. Conductor Konstantin Chudovsky set a good pace, not allowing anyone to freeze, either actors or spectators. As a reward, "Helikon" was warmly accepted by the public.
