100th anniversary of Pushkin museum

On the 31st of May the solemn celebration of the 100th anniversary of State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin took place on a historical stage of Bolshoi theatre of Russia. Artists of "Helikon-opera" participated in the concert program.

In the beginning of the evening the premiere-minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev greeted the spectators. The director of the concert was Vladimir Vasiliev.
Nikolay Lugansky (piano), Veronika Geeoyeva (soprano), “Hortus Musicus” ensemble of ancient music, Yuri Bashmet (viola), Vadim Repin (violin), “Moscow Soloists” chamber orchestra, James Galway (flute), Natalia Gutman (violoncello), Viktor Tretyakov (violin), a ballet dancer Svetlana Zakharova, Boris Eifmann’s Ballet Theatre, Sveshnikov’s choir and some other took part in the program. “Helikon-opera” was presented by Dmitry Ivanchey, who performed a part of Lensky from “Eugene Onegin” opera accompanied by the orchestra of Bolshoi theatre (conductor Pavel Sorokin). A great final accord was the scene of the triumph from Verdi’s Aida performed by Sveshnikov’s choir and artists of the choir of “Helikon-opera”.

All participants and the staff of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after S. Pushkin, headed by Irina Antonova, bowed at the end of the ceremony under the ringing of the real bells. The spectators, among whom were political figures, directors of the different museums of the world, theatrical workers and journalists, gave a standing ovation.
