The opening of the exhibition of Irina Voiteleva
“EMOTIONAL PATRONS OR EQUILIBRIUM WITHOUT LOVE”
On the 23rd of February before the "KLASsnaya opera" performance the opening of the photo exhibition of Irina Voiteleva will take place in the foyer of "Helikon-opera". The exhibition is called "Emotional patrons or Equilibrium without love".
Irina Voiteleva is an artist who works at the edge of art and fashion. Irina Voiteleva was born in Moscow, graduated from Russian State Humanitarian University, management faculty. In 2008 she received the Grand Prix of the Facecontrol Awards in Moscow as The Best Society Photographer. The same year she became the laureate of the “Silver Camera” prize for “Moscow’s Butterflies”. Irina is a constant participant of Moscow’s biennale of Young Art. In 2009 “Cyberprincess” series (together with an artist Sasha Frolova) became the finalist of Kandinsjy prize. The works from that series are in the collection of Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art.
The source of inspiration for the project “EMOTIONAL PATRONS OR EQUILIBRIUM WITHOUT LOVE” was Helikon-opera’s performance “Das Liebesverbot” by R. Wagner and “Equlibrium” film by an American producer Kurt Wimmer (2002).
Emotions is destructive force, which can kill mankind? Which transformations will happen to a human, if he would be offered to refuse from any senses? What life would be if there will be no love, joy and delight? Photoartist Irina Voiteleva offered to the actors of “Helikon-opera” theatre under Dmitry Bertman to move to a reality where emotions are considered a crime. “Not to love- not to sing”, “The faith is a fear without love”, “A love without love is an egoism”, “The word has no sense without love”, “Love only creates and never destroys. This is the only hope of a human”, this is what the participants of the project say about love.
The attempts to create the protective mechanism in struggle against senseless despair can be seen in new works by Irina Voiteleva. The exhibition is open until April 2012.
