"Die Fledermaus" in Moscow International House of Music
On the 4th of February on stage of Svetlanovsky Hall of Moscow International House of Music the scenic version of “Die Fledermaus” by J. Strauss performance was performed. The house, which contains 1700 seats, was full.

J. Strauss’ operetta is an immortal hit in Helikon-opera’s repertoire. The premiere of the performance took place in Evian, France, at a festival of maestro Mstislav Rostropovich. He was its musical director and conductor. With this performance “Helikon-Opera” toured the whole world. “Die Fledermaus” had been shown during Helikon’s USA tour for 58 times!
Everything in “Die Fledermaus” creates a festive atmosphere and full of unrestrained fun. The stage director Dmitry Bertman, Artistic Director of “Helikon-opera” theatre reconstructed a forgotten Strauss’ edition, made it more understandable to the spectators, added witty jokes
Everybody sparkle in “Die Fledermaus”: soloists and guests, chorus and orchestra with conductor. On the 4th of February Konstantin Chudovsky, a laureate of “Triumph” theatre youth prize was conducting the performance.
The Honoured Artists of Russia Anna Grechishkina and Larisa Kostiuk, laureates of international contests Elena Mikhailenko, Inna Zveniatskaya, Dmitry Ponomarev, Dmitry Skorikov, Andrey Palamarchuk, Vladimir Bolotin, Alexey Dedov. A young soloist Konstantin Brzhinsky, a laureate of international contests, a graduate of Vishnevskaya Opera Centre, who joined the troupe this season,, debuted as Falke.
According to a tradition, the invited guests, stars of classical and variety art take part in the second act of “Der Fliedermaus”, in a scene of Prince Orlovsky’s ball, with their numbers. This makes every performance unique.
On the 4th of February the participants of “Big Opera” project on “Culture” TV channel, young stars of “Helikon-opera” Alexandra Kovalevich, Alexander Miminoshwili and Sergey Plusnin, who became the soloist of the theatre during the live broadcast on “Culture” TV channel. Karina Flores, a soloist of the theatre, a laureate of international contests, also performed at Orlovsky’s ball.
