"The Snow Queen" performance in "Helikon-opera"
From the 3rd till the 8th of January the traditional New year performances for children were held in Moscow music theatre under Dmitry Bertman. The music for the famous tale by H. C. Andersen, retold by Eugene Schwarz, was written by Alexander Pokidchenko. Leonid Varichenko composed the libretto and staged the performance. The "Snow Queen" was already shown in "Helikon-opera" several years ago and the spectators loved it.
The fairy-tale characters were played by Natalia Fattakhova (Gerda), Ilya Ilin (Kay), Leonid Varichenko (The Granny, The Gang Leader), Eugene Astafurov (The Adviser),Alexey Solomatin (The Story Teller), Olga Davydova (The Snow Queen), Ekaterina Miazina (The Crow), Andrey Orekhov (The King, Ded Moroz), Andrey Palamarchuk (Prince Klaus, the Deer), Galina Voinichenko (Princess Elsa, The Snow Maiden), Oksana Osadchaya (The Little Female Robber).
Before the show Ded Moroz and The Snow Maiden entertained the children in the lounge, after the performance kids got the sweet presents and could take pictures with the characters of the tale.
