“Helikon-Opera” tour to Samara

On the 7th and 8th of September “Helikon-Opera” performed “Tsarina” by D. Tukhmanov on stage of Samara Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The performance was supported by META Enlightment Charity Fund.

Helikon’s “Tsarina” opened the new season in this beautifully renewed theatre, which celebrated its 80th anniversary in June 2011. For the artistic director of “Helikon-Opera” Dmitry Bertman Samara is connected with the memory of his father, Alexander Semenovich Bertman was born in this city, which in the Soviet times was called Kuybyshev.
According to a theatre’s new tradition, the audition of young Samara singers by Helikon’s creative managers was held in the context of the tour. The members of the commission highly valued the skills and talents of Volga soloists.
