"Helikon-Opera" tour to Orenburg

On the 5th and the 6th of May “Helikon-Opera" performed “Tsarina” opera by David Tukhmanov in Orenburg. For the first time in twenty years, the opera project of such a high scale was presented in the city. Tours were organized by the "Meta" Enlightment Fund with the support of “Uralsib” Financial Corporation, the Government of the Orenburg region, Orenburg Charity Foundation "Eurasia". This project became a grandiose event in the cultural life of the city. The arrival of "Tsarina" was impatiently awaited long before the tour started. On the 1st of Aprl the press-conference was held in Orenburg with participation of heads of regions and cities. The conference was dedicated to cultural and educational projects, but also the history of creation of “Tsarina” opera, its idea and the details of production work were told.

Composer David Tukhmanov with his wife and authors of the libretto poet Yuri Ryashentsev and Galina Pollidi arrived to the presentation in Orenburg. On the 4th of May a press conference was held at the Regional Drama Theatre with David Tukhmanov, who is the author of the anthem of Orenburg city, Yuri Ryashentsev, Galina Pollidi, conductor Constantine Chudovsky, president of the "Meta" Enlightment Fund Valentina Sigaeva, Minister of Culture, Public and Foreign Relations of the Orenburg region Victor Shorikov, president of the Orenburg Charity Foundation "Eurasia" Igor Khramov, Acting Director of Regional Directorate of the “Uralsib” insurance group Helena Safina. Composer David Tukhmanov and conductor Konstantin Chudovsky told that the work on the opera has been a very important period of the most interesting creative life for them. Yuri Ryashentsev noted that he was happy to come with his work in Orenburg, the hometown of his mother, where he had spent years of evacuation during the II World War here. Yuri Khramov, who actively supported the tour, spoke about the uniqueness of the scale of the opera and its entertainment functions, which excited everyone.

Opera "Tsarina" is a cultural and educational project of "Meta" Enlightment Fund. Orenburg had become the bearer of a unique experience. For the first time a sports complex became the scenic venue for "Tsarina". Surprisingly, the production team of "Helikon-Opera" has managed to turn a sports and concert complex "Orenburzhye" in a full-fledged opera hall for 2000 seats. For the installation of decorations and special equipment a group of mountain climbers was invited. Due to the support of “Uralsib” Financial Corporation, the Government of the Orenburg region and "Eurasia" Charity Fund the maximum number of spectators could see the opera. Not only residents of Orenburg visited the performances. Many came specially to see “Tsarina” from neighboring cities and districts.

On the 5th and the 6th of May the governor of the province, the mayor and other important guests visited the shows. The audience enthusiastically welcomed the stars of the theatre Elena Semenova, the Honored Artist of Russia Elena Ionova, the Honored Artist of Russia Larisa Kostyuk, the Honored Artist of Russia Vadim Zaplechny, Mikhail Guzhov, Petr Morozov, the Honored Artist of Russia Andrey Vylegzhanin, Dmitry Khromov, the Honored Artist of Russia Elena Gushchina, The Honoured Artist of Russia Anna Grechishkina, Oleg Ryabets, Andrey Palamarchuk, Alexander Miminoshvili, conductor Konstantin Chudovsky, artists of choir and orchestra of "Helikon-Opera". Ovation after the performances without any exaggeration could be compared with the roar of sports fans, so enthusiastically the spectators expressed their emotions after the performance.
