“Helikon-Opera” tour to Chelyabinsk
On the 28th and 29th of April Moscow Musical Theatre ”Helikon-Opera” under Dmitry Bertman gave successful performances on stage of Chelyabinsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after M. Glinka. Chelyabinsk’s spectators saw “Tsarina” opera by David Tukhmanov. The project was carried out with the help of META Enlightment Fund with the support of “Uralsib” Financial Corporation.
After the premiere of “Tsarina” in Alexandrinsky theatre of Saint-Petersburg in summer of 2009, the opera was performed for the spectators in Moscow, Krasnodar and Ufa. Chelyabinsk’s turn came in April 2011.
Several years ago “Helikon-Opera” performed here with “Gershwin-gala” in the context of the program “The best performances in the cities of Russia” of “The Golden Mask” National Theatre Prize.
The arrival of “Tsarina” aroused great interest among the residents of Cheliabinsk. The large number of publications, devoted to the theatre and the performance, preceded the tour. On April, 27 in Chelyabinsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Glinka the press conference was held with the Head of Public Relations, Chief Executive of URALSIB Alexander Vikhrov, Branch Manager of URALSIB Financial Corporation in Chelyabinsk Alexander Kireev, Chairman of the Board of "META" Enlightment Fund Valentina Sigaeva, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Chelyabinsk region Natalia Discaya, conductor Constantine Chudovsky and the singers of "Helikon-Opera" the Honored Artist of Russia Ksenia Viaznikova, Elena Mikhailenko and Elena Semenova.
On the 28th and the 29th of April the house was full, there were so many young people, the spectators were wearing evening dresses. The audience warmly welcomed the stars of the theatre Elena Semenova, Elena Mikhailenko, the Honored Artist of Russia Ksenia Viaznikova, Dmitry Ponomarev, Alexander Kiselev, Petr Morozov, the Honored Artist of Russia Andrey Vylegzhanin, Vasily Efimov, Svetlana Rossiyskaya, Marina Kalinina, Oleg Ryabets, Andrey Palamarchuk, Alexander Miminoshvili, conductor Constantine Chudovsky, artists of the choir and orchestra of "Helikon-Opera" and for a long time hadn’t been allowing artists to leave the stage.
