The session is going to take place in the Big Hall of the Architectural Council of Moscow Architecture Commitee at Triumfalnaya Square, 1, the 3rd floor.
There are two items on the agenda:
1. The project on restoration of the object of the cultural heritage “The main house of the Glebovs-Strechnevs-Shakhovkoys mansion and its adaptation for the State Institution of Culture of Moscow Musical Theatre “Helikon-Opera” at Bolshaya Nikitskaya, 19/16, build. 1, 2, Central District”
2. The architectural conception of the standardized metro stations.
The history of the question
Moscow musical theatre “Helikon-Opera” have been situated in the heart of Moscow at Bolshaya Nikitskaya street 19/16 for 21 year. According to Andrey Bokov’s project, the President of the Architectural Committee of Moscow, the inner yard of the mansion should be turned into auditorium for 500 seats with technically equipped modern stage, which would fit the world’s best standards for opera houses. This architectural decision provoked protests of the representatives of “Archnadzor” public movement. In October 2010 the authorities have suspended the works at the facility at Bolshaya Nikitskaya 19/16, build. 1 and 2. The decision to held additional examinations was taken. The Public Council aims to put an end to the protracted conflict. The full range of issues, including the results of additional expertise, should be reported at the Council. We remind, that according to The Order of the Government of Moscow the object of Moscow Musical Theatre “Helikon-Opera” must be finished not later than the 4th quarter of 2011.
