"Malchishnik" in "Helikon-Opera"

On the 8th of March the traditional "Malchishnik", a gala-concert devoted to the International Women's Day, took place in "Helikon-Opera". As "Devichnik" on the 23rd of February the "men's program" was stylized as a concert on summer's stage in the park in the mid 50-ies of the XX century.

Pioneers wth cameras and piles of paper for recycling, dashing officers, visiting star guests, members of voluntary police and sportsmen, suspicious characters, riffraff, singers of satirical songs and other characters were congratulating women wth the holiday.

The concertmaster was Mikhail Egiazaryan, who looked like young Sergey Prokofiev. The songs by famous Russian composers M. Blanter, I. Dunaevsky, T. Khrennikov, B. Mokrousov, V. Soloviev-Sedoy, N. Bogoslovsky, A. Lepin from such Soviet films like "Captain Grant's Children", "The Circus", "The Carnival's Night", "The Hearts of the Four", "The Spring","The Two Soldiers", "Volga-Volga" were performed by the Honoured Artists of Russia Andrey Vylegzhanin and Anatoly Ponomarev, soloists Pavel Bykov, Mikhail Verbitsky, Nikolay Galin, Mikhail Guzhov, Vladimir Kovarsky, Alexander Kiselev, Dmitry Khromov, Alexander Miminoshwili, Peter Morozov, Mikhail Nikanorov, Dmitry Ovchinnikov, Dmitry Ponomarev, Mikhail Seryshev, Andrey Orekhov (guitar), Ivan Gorbulich (accordion), men's part of the choir and orchestra in full staff.

The stage directors were Alexander Borodovsky and Yuri Ustiugov. Conductor - Constantin Tchudovsky.
