The recording of "The Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District"
The whole week in "Helikon-Opera" was very eventful. Just after the returning from Baku tour in breaks between the rehearsals of "Gershwin-gala" and its performance on stage of Svetlanovsky Hall of The Moscow House of Music and the preparation for the premiere series of "Rasputin", artists of "Helikon-Opera" recorded "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk district" opera by D. D. Shostakovich in the famous Fifth studio of the House of Recording. This recording was held with the support of long-standing friends and partners of the theatre "Radio of Russia" and personally Ludmila Borziak and Irina Belousova.
The parts in the opera were performed by Elena Mikhailenko (Katerina Lvovna), Andrey Serov (Boris Timofeevich, Sentry), Dmitry Ponomarev (Zinoviy Borisovich), The Honoured Artist of Russia Vadim Zaplechny (Sergey), The Honoured Artist of Russia Andrey Vylegzhanin (Police Sergeant, Officer), Marina Kalinina (Aksinia, Old Convict), Mikhail Seryshev (Shabby Peasant), The Honoured Artist of Larisa Kostiuk (Sonyetka) Alexey Tikhomirov (Priest, Old Convict), Dmitry Ovchinnikov (Mill Worker), Andrey Orekhov (Yard-Keeper), Eugene Ilin (Steward), Andrey Palamarchuk (Teacher), Ilia Ilin (1st Worker), Mikhail Laverov (2nd Worker, Drunken Guest, Coachman), Andrey Reichel (3rd Worker) and artists of the choir, accompanied by the orchestra of the theatre under the leadership of the Chief Conductor of the theatre People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Ponkin.
