Helikon-Opera tour to Estonia
18th season in Helikon-Opera ended with the tour to Parnu, which lasted from the 10th to 13th of July. "The Tsar's Bride" by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov and "Gershwin-gala-dinner" upon the motives of George Gershwin works were shown to the public. The short-term opera landing to the resort, spoiled with celebrities, had a phenomenal success. The cold and changeable Baltic weather was compensated with the warm reception from the organizers of the tour - the manager of the project Marika Park and workers of Parnu Konzertdimaja, and, of course, from the spectators. Even the experienced actors were startled with the storms of applause. It is necessary to note, that there were many VIP guests among the spectators, including the Minister of Culture of Estonia Laine Janes, the members of Estonian Seym.

It was the first visit of "Helikon-Opera" to Parnu, but for a long time the theatre has been having friendly and cultural connections with Estonia. "The Queen of Spades" were shown in Estonian National Opera in 1999, "Aida" in 2001, the theatre twice participated in Birgitta opera festival with "Les Dialogues of Carmelites", "La Clemenza di Tito" and "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk district". Last year the Chief Stage Director of Helikon-Opera Dmitry Bertman produced "Wallenberg" by Erkki Sven-Tüür in "Estonia" National opera. The performance was recognized as one of the best in Europe. The President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves awarded Dmitry Bertman with the Order of Santa Maria land of the IVth grade for that production.
After leaving the Tallinn-Moscow express Helikon people went to vacation. The meeting of the troupe is scheduled for the 12th of August.
