Closing of the First Moscow festival of school musical theatres

Ceremony of closing of the I Moscow Festival of Music Theatre Schools


Gala-concert, dedicated to the ceremony of closing of the I Moscow Festival of music theatre schools, which Helikon Opera held together with Department of Education of Moscow, was taken place on the stage of Moscow Musical Theatre Helikon Opera in December 24.  15 theatre collectives from 7 Moscow districts took part in the Festival.


Natalia Osadchaya and Vladimir Ushchenko, teachers of school № 324 and the presenters of Gala-concert, asked the heads of collectives and judges up on the stage. Konstantin Chudovskiy, the conductor of Helikon Opera, congratulated young actors and opened the concert with overture from opera “Le Nozze di Figaro” by W. Mozart.


The participants of collectives of several theatre schools performed at the ceremony of closing. Ivan Avetikyan, Alexei Soleniy and Andrey Pozdnyakov, pupils of theatre collective of school № 626 named after N. Sats, performed the trio of  robbers from the performance “People and robbers from Hardamond”. Anton Busygin, Daria Kiseleva, Anna Leontieva, Natalia Yamashkina and Yulia Kladinova, pupils of theatre collective of school № 1189 named after I. Kurchatova, performed a fragment of the performance “Fairy tale about Fairy tale”. Young actors of theatre collective of Nord West performed a song from musical “A holiday of disobedience”, and soloists and chorus of Gnessin music school performed a fragment of opera “Der Zwerg Nase” by E. Podgaits.


The participants were awarded beautiful prizes with emblems of the Festival, diplomas, and the heads of school collectives were awarded the tickets to “Die Fledermaus”, performance of Helikon Opera.
Three duets were performed by the pupils of school № 324 and soloists of Helikon Opera. Anna Grechishkina (Helikon Opera) and Pavel Sulyandziga (pupil of school № 324) performed a duet of Susanna and Figaro from opera “Le Nozze di Figaro”; Mikhail Davydov (Helikon Opera) and Evgenia Fomina (graduate of school №324) performed a duet of Count and Countess; Natalia Osadchaya (soloist of Moscow Conservatory Opera Theatre) and Alexandra Nikitina (pupil of school № 324) performed a duet of Susanna and Marcellina.


The participants were greeted by festival jury: Elena Gushchina, soloist of Helikon Opera and teacher of Russian Academy of Theatre Arts, Elena Ivanova, the headmaster of school № 1835 and the head of the module “Children and Adults community” of the project “School of the Future”,   Maria Fominova, representative of organization committee of the Festival and the head of aesthetics and culture chair of Moscow Institute of Open Education,  Ludmila Ovchinnikova, professor of solo singing, chair of the vocal faculty of Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, and Viacheslav Starodubtsev, soloist of Helikon Opera and teacher of Russian Academy of Theatre Arts.


The judges noted bright performances of the participants of the Festival, congratulated the heads of collectives and wished them further creative victories. Elena Zotova, idealogic inspirer of the Festival and the headmaster of school № 324, expressed her thanks to Helikon Opera and especially to Dmitry Bertman, Artistic Director of Helikon Opera and director of Gala-concert, thanked Ekaterina Oblezova, soloist of the Helikon Opera, for professionalism and support to children’s creative.


Viacheslav Starodubtsev offered a broadening of Festival limits by organization of steady “round table” of the heads of children’s theatre collectives and attraction of the composers, the script writers, and the culture workers to take part in it.

The bright ending of the concert was the scene from “Die Fledermaus” operetta and “Brindisi” from “La Traviata” performed by soloists of Helikon Opera and soloists and chorus of Zhar Ptiza Theatre of school № 324.
