Premiere of "Le Nozze di Figaro" by W. A. Mozart

The 18th season in Helikon-Opera was opened by the premiere of the performance “Le Nozze di Figaro” on he 26th of September.

A performance for press and members of “Friends of Helikon” club had taken place the day before. The house was full and the performance was warmly received by the audience. The soloists of the theatre Natalia Zagorinskaya (Countess), Igor Tarasov (Count), Anna Grechishkina (Susanna), Stanislav Shvets (Figaro), Alisa Gitsba (Marcellina), Inna Zvenyatskaya (Cherubino), Mikhail Guzhov (doctor Bartolo), Anatoly Ponomarev (Basilio), Nikolay Galin (Antonio), Elizaveta Ageeva (Barbarina), Ilya Ilin (don Curzio) were met with the storm of applause after each scene. Everyone was struck by Cherubino, who spent the most part of performance in baby buggy. “A great ending” of the 4th act, where all singers walked in the hall in deep darkness and performed the ensemble part, provoked the spectators to be enthusiastic over it.  The orchestra, conducted by music director of the performance and chief chorus master Denis Kirpanev, was met with applause. By the way it was the 1st work of Denis Kirpanev as music director of a performance.

At the press conference that was hold after the performance, besides traditional questions of nuances of a production and future creative plans of the company the questions connected with a building of Helikon in Nikitskaya and a process of its reconstruction were asked. Everyone thanked Dmitry Bertman, stage and artistic director of the theatre, for a wonderful production and “for a skillfully use of stage space and the hall as its organic part”.

The premiere was as great as the performance for press. Marina Karpechenko (Countess), Petro Morozov (Count),Maya Barkovskaya (Susanna), Stanislav Shvets (Figaro), Ekaterina Oblezova (Marcellina), Ksenia Vyaznikova (Cherubino), Dmitry Ovchinnikov (doctor Bartolo), Mikhail Seryshev (Basilio), Nikolay Galin (Antonio), Julia Burlyaeva (Barbarina), Andrey Palamarchuk (don Curzio) performed the premiere. There was not an inch of hall. The spectators rose in applause during and after the performance.

After the 1st act the members of the “ Friends of Helikon” Club shared their impressions about performance and congratulated Dmitry Bertman.
