Helikon-Opera was met with success in Italy.

Helikon-Opera was met with success in Italy. A new production of Helikon-Opera "Boris Godunov" by M. P. Moussorgsky (D. D. Shostakovich edition) was performed in the theatre of Reggio nell Emilia. The director of this theatre is Mr. Daniele Abbado, Mr. Claudio Abbado’s son. Mr. Daniele Abbado had specially arrived to Moscow to be present at first night of “Boris Godunov”, which was held in autumn, 2006. A Dmitry Bertman’s production had made a great impression on Mr. Abbado, and he invited Helikon-Opera to perform “Boris Godunov” in Italy. It was not for the first time the theatre visited a homeland of the opera genre, which exists over 400 years. Italian audience was acquainted with Helikon-Opera much earlier, in Ravenna in 2003. It is worth to note that the troupe performed with great success such Russian classic repertoire as “The Tsar’s Bride”, “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk” and “Kaschey the Immortal”.
