"How I spent summer-2006". Irina Samoilova
After graduating "Academia Rossiniana" and sensational performing on Rossini's festival-2006 Irina Samoilova sucessfully continued her study of Rossini's repertoire. Besides Madame Cortese and Countess Folleville from "Il viaggio a Reims" and Fiorilla from "Il turco in Italia" (concert performance under the leadership of Vladimir Ponkin) the role of Contessa Adele from "Le Comte Ori", the latest composer's opera, has been added to her collection. Irina became the first Russian singer, who performed this complicated coloratura part.
She performed in Spain in "La Coruna" festival. The aim was complicated, because opera was written in French language, which is, as it is well-known, not very comfortable for singing. And participating in the performance of more experienced colleagues, the world famous singers, has added responsibility. But Samoilova has overcome all difficulties with grace. The public has accepted her with enthusiasm, and the media was unanimous in high appreciation of Russian singer's skills. Not only the perfect vocal, but the wonderful scenic behaviour of the artist were mentioned, which is undoubtedly the natural result of her work in "Helikon-Opera" under the leadership of Dmitry Bertman.
