A concert of "Helikon-Opera" was held in Vasiliyevsky spusk
On the 3rd September in Vasilyevski spusk of Moscow Kremlin the concert of "Helikon-Opera" was held in the frames of the Day of Solidarity in Struggle against Terrorism. At the conductor's stand was the People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Ponkin. The masterpieces like "John Damascene" by S. Taneev, the fragments from "Alexander Nevsky" cantata, "Polovetsky Dances" from A. Borodin's opera "Prince Igor", "Hymn of Nations" by G. Verdi were performed. The soloists were the Honoured Artists of Russia Larisa Kostiuk, Vadim Zaplechny, Igor Tarasov, as well as Ksenia Viaznikova and Svetlana Sozdateleva. The chorus under the leadership of Honoured Artist of Russia Denis Kirpanev sang the spiritual works by M. Musorgsky and S. Rakhmaninov.

Although the concert went in open air scene, the quality of sound of voices and orchestra was very high. Monumental works of Russian composers were harmonizing with the grand ensemble of Pokrovsky Cathedral, which is more famous as St. Basil's.
Public received the concert warmly. The culmination of the evening was "Sunny circle" song, performed by the presenters of the concert Anastasia Belukova and Viacheslav Starodubtsev, yesterday students of RATI and the young artists of "Helikon-Opera".
