Congratulations on the premiere of Prince Igor!
The grand premiere of Prince Igor directed by Dmitry Bertman completes the 36th season of the Helikon opera!
On June 26, a new performance was born on the stage of the Stravinsky Hall, which we can say with confidence that it will become another repertoire hit of Helikon and an audience favorite!
The theatre has been working towards this premiere for a long time - the world-renowned director, founder and President of Helikon opera Dmitry Bertman has dreamed of staging this masterpiece by Borodin on the stage of his dear theatre for over 20 years! The entire team worked tirelessly for months with enthusiasm, inspiration, dedication and love for Borodin's brilliant opera for the audience to witness this magnificent spectacle, with the most complex mise-en-scenes, stunning costumes, captivating sets, intense intrigue and, meanwhile, such a familiar plot (everyone remembers The Lay of Igor's Campaign!).
The result is a powerful, vibrant production filled with life-affirming energy and the power of emotions, which literally burst into the opera world of Moscow! It is magnificent every moment of the stage action, it captivates, delights and leaves an indelible impression.
We would like to thank the magnificent soloists, the amazing choir and the orchestra led by Maestro Valery Kiryanov!
The choir plays a special role in Prince Igor, which is renowned for its powerful and tragic choral scenes, and the artists bore a colossal burden. They did an incredible job – both the Polovtsian Dances and all the choral numbers were performed just phenomenally! There is no other chorus in the world like this.

For the premiere of Prince Igor Helikon prepared the opening of an exclusive exhibition “The Lay of Igor's Campaign in Fine Art”, featuring original works by great theater artists. Famous subjects embodied by talented masters amaze with their beauty! The exhibition pleases the guests of the theatre on the second floor, in the Foyer of Sergei Zimin.
The premiere series started with great success! We await you, dear audience, for the July and August performances at Helikon.
