CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PREMIERE OF MADDALENA BY SERGEI PROKOFIEV!

On October 9, the premiere of Sergei Prokofiev's most mysterious opera Maddalena took place at Helikon!

Months of creative searches, bold decisions, hard work, active preparation and long rehearsals are behind us… And we did our best to the audience could be today in Venice— the city of masks and secrets, where nothing is what it seems at first thought…

An exclusive feature of the production is the interactive action before the performance begins in Zimin’s Foyer. The whole space was transformed into the carnival streets of Venice, and the choir artists played out a passionate and fascinating story according to the canons of Commedia dell’arte in front of the audience. It was a mirror image of what then appeared on the stage of the White-Columned Hall of Princess Shakhovskaya.
