Concert of organ music "The Magic of Barocco"

A famous organist and professor of Moscow Conservatory Eugenia Krivitskaya and the soloists of Moscow music theatre Helikon-opera invite the lovers of ancient music to visit the concert Magic of Barocco, which will take place on May 22, 2016 in Shakhovskaya Hall.

 

Do you like the ancient music? If yes, then come and check up the best and inspiring pages of the heritage of Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and also their predecessors and contemporaries. If you prefer Brahms and Rachmaninov – you better come too.

The melodies familiar by the ringtones of the mobile phones could happen to be the themes of great classical arias, spirituals, organ toccates.

The magic of Barocco would invite you to the illusion world, in which the heroes and heroines of great historical dramas reign, the magicians from the fairy tales appear there, in which everyone loves and suffers seriously, imagining no life without strong passions.

In the program of this concert you can find the fragments of the opera masterpieces of the 17th-18th centuries:

“Giulio Cesare in Egitto”, “Rinaldo” by Handel

“Serse” by Bononcini

“Tigran” by Vivaldi

“Dido and Aeneas”, “King Arthur” by Purcell…

Listening to the charming melodies we cannot imagine what a storm of emotions has been called in the soles of the listeners of that time.

The performers – the owner of the grant of the President of Russia Eugenia Krivitskaja, the soloists of Helikon-opera theatre Alisa Gitsba (soprano), Ksenia Viaznikova (mezzo-soprano), Vadim Volkov (contratenor), Dmitry Khromov (tenor).

Special guest of the program – the owner of the “Persona of Russia” award, “Ovation” National Prize Winner, Piotr Tataritsky.

Eugenia Krivitskaja is the organ player and music critic, professor of Moscow Conservatory, doctor of arts, the member of the Russian Composers Union, Chief Editor of the magazines “Musical Life” and “Organ”. As an organ player Eugenia Krivitskaja performs in Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Malta, France, Switzerland participates in developing of a special direction in concert practice, connecting music and word, playing musical instruments and drama acting at a time. Eugeniya Krivitskaja has become an expert in accepting the organ of Moscow State Conservatory, also being the author of the concept of the grand opening of the organ of the Moscow Conservatory after renovation on May 13, 2013.

She is also the artistic director of the world premiere of Alyabiev’s “Storm” opera, which has been shown in the frames of the cross-cultural year of the Great Britain and Russia.

The records of Eugeniya Krivitskaja  are broadcasting on “Orpheus” radio and Culture TV-channel.

She is a participant of the biggest Russian festivals – winter international arts festival by Yuri Bashmet in Sochi, Trans-siberian Art Festival by Vadim Repin in Novosibirsk, “Vladimir Spivakov invites…” in Perm and others.
