Sofia Tsygankova

Sofia Tsygankova
soprano

Born in 1997 in Ryazan. Graduated from tht G.& A. Pirogov Ryazan College of Music (class of L. Yachmennikova) and from from the vocal faculty of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (class of professor R.P. Lisitsian). Same year, she continued her studies in the master's program at the Academy.

Sofia is a laureate of international competitions:

• Finalist of the 2^nd International Competition for Young Opera Singers named after S. Lemeshov, Tver (2022);
• 1^st prize of the X Open All-Russian Festival-Competition for Young Vocalists named after N.A. Obukhova, Lipetsk (2022);
• 1^st prize & special prize of the II International Competition for Vocalists named after L.V. Sobinov, Yaroslavl (2021);
• Laureate of the III International Academic Solo Singing Competition G.A. Pisarenko, Nizhny Novgorod (2019);
• Laureate of the 2^nd degree of the V International Competition by Natalia Shpiller “Masterpieces of Russian Music”, Moscow (2018).

In 2019, she was training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (class of B. Adler).

In 2020, she took part in the Elena Obraztsova Foundation project “Opera Class”, where she has performed the role of Zerlina in the “Amadeus. Opera Lab” performance (“Novaya Opera” theatre), stage-director - Sergey Shirokov, conductor - Dmitry Korchak, artistic director - Ernesto Palacio.

In 2021, she has impersonated the part of Papagena in a concert performance of Mozart's opera “Die Zauberflöte” at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (RNMSO, conductor - Christopher Moulds).

During the season 2022-2023, she was an intern of the 2^nd Youth Program for Opera Artists of the “Helikon-opera” Theatre and the “Art-Helios”, and as a result, she has joined the theatre’s troupe.
