Yulia Nikanorova
mezzo-soprano

Born in Orenburg. In 2015 graduated from Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), the faculty of the musical theatre, the workshop of Dmitry Bertman, class of the coach Tamara Sinyavskaya. While studying Yulia has already been performing in the Helikon-opera productions and after graduating has become the theatre’s soloist.

In 2016 she had an internship in Italy in the framework of the Della Valle d'itria festival in Bari.

When entered the Helikon-opera theatre, she has started to actively “explore” its repertoire and has impersonated more than 15 roles, among which there are such significant as Olga in the “Eugene Onegin” by P. I. Tchaikovsky, Polina in “The Queen of Spades” by P. I. Tchaikovsky, Fenena in the “Nabucco” by G. Verdi, Rosina in the “Il barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Rossini, Lyubava in the “Sadko” by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, Sonyetka in the “Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District” by D. D. Shostakovich, Medoro in the “Orlando, Orlando” by G.F. Handel/G. Prokofiev etc.

Yulia also pursues vast concert and touring activity.
