Alexander Kiselev


Born in Chelyabinsk. In 1996 he has graduated from the Moscow Stare Consevatory by specialty “Vocal art” (the class of the People’s artist of Russia professor P.I.Skusnichenko).

In 1995-1996 he was the soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre, and from 1998 to 2005 was the Bolshoi theatre soloist.

In 2005 he has become the soloist of the Moscow musical theatre Helikon-opera. But his debut with the helikonian troupe took place in 1999, when the theatre was on tour in France with the opera “Carmen” by G. Bizet.

On the Helikon-opera stage he has impersonated more than 20 roles such as: Gremin, Kochubey and King René in the“Eugene Onegin”, “Mazeppa” and “Iolanta” by P. I. Tchaikovsky, Boris Godunov and Prince Igor in the samename operas by M. Mussorgsky and A. Borodin, Boris Timofeyevich (“Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District” D. Shostakovich), King of Clubs (“The Love for Three Oranges” by S. S. Prokofiev), Basilio (“Il barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Rossini), Friedrich (“Das Liebesverbot” by R. Wagner), Timur (“Turandot” by G. Puccini), Old Gypsy (“Aleko” by S. V. Rachmaninoff), Sobakin (“The Tsar’s bride” by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov), Sarastro (“Die Zauberflöte” by W. A. Mozart) etc.

Aleksandr Kiselev is the multiple laureate of the international contests and festivals: festival in Johannesburg (1995), Placido Domingo Foundation Contest (1996), P. I. Tchaikovsky contest (1998), Lucia Albanes-Puccini Foundation Contest (2003).

The singer participates in the Helikon-opera tours and also pursues vast concert activity in Russia and abroad.

In 2011 году Aleksandr Kiselev has become an invited soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Aleksandr Kiselev's merits in art are noted with the awards:gold medal “National property” of the “Patrons of the Century” charity foundation, Gratitude of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation “For the big contribution in art, for the longstanding fruitful work”. Aleksandr is also given the title of “The honorable art worker of Moscow”.
