VITALY FOMIN
Tenor

Vitaly Fomin was born in 1989 in Uglich. Graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Culture, specializing in Music and Theatre Arts, under the guidance of V.A. Pogosova.
Vitaly is the 1st prize winner of the Moscow Competition for Lyric Tenors named after I.S. Kozlovsky (2014).
He has been working at the Helikon-Opera Theatre since 2013, initially as a member of the chorus and since 2022 as a soloist.

Vitaly's repertoire includes more than 30 operatic parts. On the stage of the Helikon-Opera he has performed roles such as Sergey in Shostakovich's "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District", Vodemon in Tchaikovsky's "Iolanta", Hermosa in Offenbach's "L'île de Tulipatan", Young Doctor Gaaz in Sergunin's "Doctor Gaaz", Prince Fyodor in Mussorgsky's "Boris Godunov", Ajax in Offenbach's "La belle Hélène", Minister Pong in Puccini's "Turandot", Ole Lukøje in “Opera Fairy Tale Welcomes Guests”, Iskra in Tchaikovsky's "Mazeppa", Elder Brother in Weill's "The Seven Deadly Sins", Janek in Janáček's "Věc Makropulos”, Prince in Weinstein's "Cinderella" etc.

Vitaly was nominated for the Golden Mask Award in 2016 for his role as Young Doctor Gaaz.
