Alexandra Kovalevich

Born on 26th of October 1977 in Moscow. In 1991 graduated from Children’s Musical School №3 named after N. Miaskovsky (class of violin). From September 2000 until June 2002 she studied at the vocal department of Academical music college at the Moscow State Conservatorium named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (V. M. Scherbinina class). In 2008 graduated from Moscow State Conservatorium named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (People’s Artist of Russia I. Maslennikova class).

A laureate of the Ist Open contest of “Academic singing” Department of the State Musical Pedagogical Institute of Ippolitov-Ivanov in Moscow (3rd prize, 2002). A diploma winner of Bella Voce, the XI Open All-Russian student contest (2003), a diploma for the best performance of Rakhmaninov’s romance. Participated in III International contest of young singers named after Elena Obraztsova. Since November 2003 is a scholarship holder of Zurich’s Opera House.

A laureate of the XI Moscow festival of student creativity “Festos” (Ist prize and diploma winner for the best performance of M. Glinka’s work, 2004). A diploma winner of XLII International vocal contest named after Fr. Vinas in Barcelona (a diploma and a special prize for interpretation of Russian music, January 2005). A laureate of XXIII International festival of friendship and art “April’s spring” (April 2005, Pyongyang, North Korea – Golden Prize).

A laureate of II International contest of opera artists of Galina Vishnevskaya (2nd prize, May 2008, Moscow).

Concert activities: November 2005, “Boldin autumn” festival (Nizhny Novgorod), April 2005 – a festival of “60 years memory of Victory celebration” (Moscow), November 2005 – a solo concert in Small Hall of Conservatory in Barselona, Spain; March 2006 – a solo project in Moscow’s House of actor; recitals of I. Maslennikova.

Participated in the first performance in Russia of Rossini’s opera “Tancredi” (27th October 2005, Moscow). Participated  in the first performance in Russia of Pergolesi’s “Missa Romana” (9th November 2005, Moscow).

A diploma winner of "The Big Opera" TV contest (Moscow, 2011).

A laureate of international contest named after Fedora Barbieri (III prize, Saint-Petersburg, 2012)
