Helikon opera invites you to join our big tour around the theater!

Moscow Music Theater Helikon Opera under Dmirty Bertman continues to introduce our theater building to the public throughout the excursions around the theatre. After the big historical restoration, which has lasted for a long eight years, the theater company returned to its home building in Bolshaya Nikitskaya street. Rich history of the estate combined with the new technologies and Palace interiors are added now with unique exhibits and art-objects. Not accidently, by the vote of the professional jury and citizens of Moscow, the Helikon Opera building was recognized as "The Best Implemented Project in the Field of Construction of Cultural and Educational Objects in 2015".

The visitors will learn the history of one of the oldest Moscow estates and its owner, remarkable Princess E. F. Glebova-Streshneva-Shakhovskaya, who radicaly remodeled the building in the end of the nineteenth century. The list of the names connected to this estate will make the hearts of the theater lovers to beat faster. These walls remember Chaliapin, Sarah Bernard, even Stanislavsky and Chekhov. This was the place where Zimin’s Private opera gave the performances supported by Savva Mamontov. Sobinov sang here and Meyerhold worked in here in twenties.

Guests will see the memorable artifacts connected with the people whose names were given to the halls and foyers of the theater. So, in the hall dedicated to Elena Obraztsova, public will see her personal piano and vintage furniture from her Moscow apartment.

The tour includes the story about unique restoration of the estate and extensive renovation of the theater, which lasted from 2007 to 2015. The tour starts at the Atrium named "Chaliapin", continues in the Zimin’s foyer, goes through the halls of the enfilade "Pokrovsky", "Tikhonov", makes a stop in the White Column Hall of Princess Shakhovskaya and ends in the big Stravinsky hall.

Tours start at 16.00.

Duration of the tour is 1.5 – 2 hours.

After a great tour of the theatre guests can relax in the cosy theatre café, waiting for the performance, as well as to get all the necessary information about the performances in the elegant foyer of box-offices.
