“Russalka” opera, one of the wonderful musical compositions of Antonin Dvorak’s repertoire, tells the story about a water-nymph who wants to love a human being and about the fear of love that will end in suffering. The plot is taken from well-known fairy-tale “The Mermaid” by H. C. Andersen. In Dvorak's "Russalka" the action takes place at the border of two worlds: the world of people and underwater world. To Dvorak’s tune all incredible creatures come alive as so Jezibaba the Witch, Water Sprite, Forest Nymphs. The characters of Slavic folklore exist and the miracles come to pass. And in the figures of human beings - Prince and Foreign Princess - the modern characters can be recognized.
The performance is destined for children as well as for the adults.
