A thrilling opera of Giuseppe Verdi "Il Trovatore" has long been included in the treasury of world culture - and that's not surprising, because in the tragic beauty and richness of emotions and drama, it probably has no equal. The premiere took place in January of 1853 in the Roman theater "Apollo", but still "Il Trovatore" is one of the most popular operas in the world.

The plot is adapted from the play of Antonio Garcia Gutierrez, and is based on real events that took place in Spain in the XV century. Libretto has been written for less than three months  by a friend of the composer Salvatore Cammarano, but, alas, he has not got  time enough to finish it – that did the poet Leone Emanuele Bardare. The action of this romantic drama - with the intrigues and bloody denouement, with fights, vengeance, and the mysteries and poison - takes place in Aragon and Biscay at the beginning of the XV century. The music of of the genius Verdi is incredibly expressive, the passions unabated for a minute.

Three years ago, when the channel "Russia C" broadcasted Giuseppe Verdi's "Il Trovatore" from the Salzburg Opera Festival with the participation of the world stars Anna Netrebko and Plácido Domingo, the artistic director of "Helikon-Opera" Dmitry Bertman said that "the viewers are very lucky." Now Muscovites and guests of the capital would be able to enjoy  "Il Trovatore", when they come to Helikon-Opera to the premiere, directed by Dmitry Bertman.
